About The Role

We’re looking for a Multimedia Reporter to join our energetic and multi award-winning News team on a full-time permanent basis.

As the Multimedia Reporter, you will be in the South West of England, reporting for the famous Greatest Hits Radio network and the Hits Radio network, as well as reporting into our other iconic brands such as Magic Radio, Absolute Radio and KISS as appropriate.

You’ll be first on the scene for breaking news, delivering vivid, engaging reports across radio and video. Calm under pressure, you’ll capture high-quality audio, craft compelling stories, and report with authority.

Strong editing skills and a keen eye and ear for detail are essential, as is the ability to build strong relationships with key figures and local communities. You’ll help ensure we remain the trusted voice of our area, sharing original, relevant stories with impact.

As an ambassador for the station, you’ll bring excellent people skills and support a positive team culture. Flexibility is key - news doesn’t stick to office hours.

This is a full-time position where you will work in the South West of England. You would need to be based in or near the Bristol area. This position is based at the successful candidate's home location, working remotely in daily collaboration with our experienced, vibrant and dispersed team of journalists.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Sourcing, developing, and delivering breaking local news stories for radio, online, and social media platforms.
  • Planning and producing compelling, locally relevant breakfast bulletin content with engaging audio/video.
  • Reacting swiftly to breaking news and report live on location when required.
  • Building and maintaining strong local contacts to uncover original and exclusive stories.
  • Ensuring all content is legally sound, accurate, balanced, and Ofcom compliant.
  • Editing and presenting bulletins, and supporting other news roles as needed across Bauer’s network.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a professional, positive working environment.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date news diary and share weekly coverage plans with the news desk.

What You’ll Bring:

  • You will deliver reports with authority and integrity and have the passion and ability to react to breaking news and uncover original stories across the news patch, working across a range of on-air, online and social platforms.
  • You should have a recognised journalism qualification, a full driving licence and will be able to work calmly and accurately, ensuring everything you broadcast or put on social media is legally sound, Ofcom-compliant, accurate and balanced.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and experience of modern audio/video broadcasting platforms and how they can assist our teams in delivering news content to a wide range of audiences.
  • You should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the kinds of stories which will resonate with our audiences.

Before applying, make sure you tick the following boxes:

  • You have 3+ years’ of experience in news reporting
  • You hold a full clean driver's licence
  • You have a third-level degree in Journalism or a related discipline.

If you're a creative and driven journalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a passionate, award-winning news team – we’d love to hear from you.
