Our client is hiring for a Murex technical support (Environment/ production / Devops)
Position Summary
To work in London Murex Support Group team, primarily providing application support for the Murex system and related services. Additionally, supporting development and test environments, improving the Murex platform and working on related infrastructure/upgrade projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Production Support
- Monitor and resolve alerts and production support requests for the Murex production system and related systems and interfaces.
- Ensure batch SLAs are met.
- Attend office according to agreed support rota (early, mid or late shift).
- Respond to out of hours emergency calls according to agreed rota (rare as system is stable)
- Perform weekend scheduled maintenance and testing.
- Log cases and communicate status to users and stakeholders.
- When on late shift, send detailed handover email to Global Murex Support.
- Escalate to colleagues when cases require additional knowledge.
Environment Support
- Log and resolve support requests for non-prod Murex environments.
Platform Improvement
- Maintain documentation (Confluence) in a timely manner.
- Design and implement monitoring, health check and support scripts, to avoid incidents.
- Proactively perform housekeeping including purging file systems.
UNIX support
- Provide UNIX and packaging support to DIT
Derivatives Infrastructure Projects
- Work on projects as assigned from time to time:
- -> application upgrades
- -> OS, Database, Hardware migrations (with Platform Engineering teams).
- -> Interfaces and APIs (with other developers).
- -> Cloud migration
Skills and Experiences:
- Extensive (10 years+) application/system support in a trading system or risk management environment.
- Hands-on Murex skills, including service launchers/batch management/monitoring.
- Technical skills in areas ideally including linux, shell, python, SQL (Sybase), scheduling tools (Autosys), git, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS.
Qualifications:
- Experience is more important than qualifications. However, proof of capabilities and achievements is welcome, either through academic or professional qualifications/certifications.
