Location: Langfields, Warrington, UK

Company Overview:

Langfields designs and fabricates tanks and vessels for the Petrochem industry using stainless steel, high-nickel alloys, and reactive metals

Working
Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 07:00 - 15:30
  • Friday: 07:00 - 13:00

Role & Responsibilities:

As an NDT Radiographer, at Langfields, you will:

  • Operate workshop radiography, MPI, DPI & UT operations at the Warrington facility to conduct non-destructive testing (within our purpose built radiation enclosure and open shop).
  • Carry out radiographic testing in compliance with statutory regulations and internal standards.
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain all NDT equipment; interpret and evaluate radiographic, MPI, DPI & UT results.
  • Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports.
  • Ensure strict observance of health, safety, and radiation protection protocols.
  • Handle work pieces in and out of test house utilising overhead cranage.
  • Developing Radiography Films in dark room facility.
  • Calculating exposure times for a range of thicknesses and materials.
  • Visual inspection of fit-ups and completed welds.

Essential Qualifications & Certifications:

The ideal candidate should hold:

  • CSWIP Radiographic Interpretation Certification (e.g., CSWIP 3.0 or above) or equivalent. Similar adverts require CSWIP 3.1, or PCN Level 2 in Radiography
  • PCN Level 2 in Radiographic Testing (RT), per ISO 9712 standards
  • Additional PCN Level 2 certifications
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI / MT)
  • Liquid Penetrant Inspection (DPI / PT)
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT) (e.g., PCN 3.1/3.2)
  • Relevant Industry Experience, generally 2–3 years in radiography or similar NDT environment
  • Working knowledge of radiographic safety standards (e.g., IRR2017), interpretation of engineering drawings, and radiation protection procedures

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent reporting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Good communication skills and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
