An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled neonatal nurse to work at the Neonatal Unit at Croydon Healthcare Services NHS Trust as a Practice Development Nurse.
The purpose of this role is to support the neonatal team in ensuring quality care, which will enable babies and their families to be supported throughout their care pathway whilst promoting independence and protecting choice, dignity, privacy, and safety.
To achieve this, you will plan, implement and evaluate neonatal nursing team training needs and plan pre-registration student rotas and mentor allocation. You will need to communicate effectively at all times with the team, other health care professionals, and the families, carers/and visitors. You will need to ensure high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.
Working Pattern
Monday – Friday 08:00-1600 (excluding bank holidays)
Education
- Provide supervisory expertise underpinned by theoretical specialist knowledge and practical experience within the Neonatal Division Plan and facilitate training in the clinical area.
Clinical Practice
- Assess and monitor documentation and record keeping for care delivered to all patients to promote clinical effectiveness in accordance with NMC guidelines.
Management
- Provide leadership, motivation, and vision to contribute to the development of Neonatal nursing for patients, relatives, and staff.
Research and Audit
- Contribute to the audit of all education, training and development provisions
- Work collaboratively to promote and participate in multi professional audit and quality initiatives in accordance with the, National Service Frameworks and DOH guidelines
- Participate in Neonatal /Children’s services Education Practice Group, Trust Practice and Education Groups to review, develop and implement multi professional policies and guidelines on all aspects of nursing care.
