Network Engineer

Overview:

BAM is seeking an innovative, driven self-starter for a Network Engineer position. This highly technical role requires advanced engineering experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting a global network. The hire will have the opportunity to work on a wide array of networking technologies providing leading edge solutions to the firm. The candidate will embody a mindset of continuous learning and process improvement. A basic understanding of financial markets and trade lifecycles is a plus.

As a Network Engineer at BAM, you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain a multi-vendor global network
• Manage the firewall infrastructure and proactively improve network security
• Work closely with technology and investment teams to understand their requirements and provide solutions that align with business needs
• Perform network capacity planning to ensure network scales to meet the demands of the business
• Define and implement network security standards and best practices
• Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting network and security issues
• Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation and out of hours network maintenance

To be considered a good technical fit, you must have:

• Expert knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and network security
• Extensive experience with Python, Ansible, Git, and network automation tools
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, including BGP, OSPF, PIM, and IGMP
• Solid understanding of networking in public cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure
• The ability to troubleshoot complex network issues

Bonus Points for:

• Experience with Cisco Meraki solutions
• Knowledge of enterprise voice including Cisco CUCM, Zoom Phone, WebEx Calling and Cloud9
• Relevant industry certifications: PCNSE, CCNP
