Opticore IT are currently searching for Network Operations Engineer who is currently operating at a CCNA level with strong general routing and switching knowledge to come and join our NOC. You'll join our excelling team, based in the Central London. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office.
Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
Our Network Operations Centre provides support to our managed service clients, fixing faults, planning maintenance. This role will be working with a team of engineers to proactively maintain and reactively fix our clients network when they have issues. The NOC is a fast-paced environment based in our HQ London.
What you'll be doing:
Working in our Network Operations Centre as a 2nd line Network Support Engineer.
Diagnose and solve 2nd line problems and incidents with limited supervision and within SLAs.
Monitor ticket queues, multitask, and prioritise work by shifting focus as and when required.
Troubleshoot system and network problems, ID root cause and escalate when appropriately.
Work closely with the 3rd Line team to resolve complex problems.
Administer and maintain customer infrastructure via change control.
Perform RMAs, software upgrades and patch management, for several vendors.
Create technical documents, diagrams, and SOPs whilst maintaining the company's knowledge base.
Administer and maintain the company's lab infrastructure.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, access rights and inventory.
What you'll bring:
Certified CCNA Network Engineer and working towards CCNP
Min. 2 Years experience within a network support environment
Must have been exposed to administering and upgrading Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
Must be flexible (Participate in On-call Rota and occasional weekend working, and also be part of a shift pattern 0700hrs – 2000hrs Mon – Fri.
Palo Alto Firewalls
Cisco and Cisco Meraki Switches and Access Points
Must have working knowledge of ITIL processes (Change Management, Incident Management,)
