Salary: Starting from £34,100 depending on experience plus a company van

In this
Network Engineer role your focus will be to protect some of our most important stakeholders, our customers and the local environment from being negatively impacted from Southern Water activities. This will involve you engaging with customers to understand any problems they might have and looking for solutions to resolve them.
To achieve this, you will work closely with other departments within the wastewater function to determine the root cause of pollution and flooding events, as well as customer related issues that may have occurred as a result. Writing reports to fully document findings and creating action plans to prevent similar issues from becoming problems in the future.
Technically, it would be beneficial for you to have an understanding of wastewater networks, along with experience of working with internal and external stakeholders and an analytical approach to understanding, describing, and solving real world problems.
This role operates across the week with the core hours being Monday to Friday’s 08:00 – 16:00, however there is an out of hours element to the role that would be completed on a rota’d basis amongst the team.
This is the type of role where you will be happy working both on your own but also with others as you will need to work with different departments both internally and externally to understand, plan and implement the actions required to keep on top of the asset risks.
No 2 days will be the same in this role, as you will be working with and alongside so many different departments which will expose you to many sectors within the industry, helping you to gain a wealth of knowledge and building your own personal development.

You Will Need To Be
- IT Literate
- Great Communication skills
- The ability to interpret data from an array of data sources
- Sound investigation skills
- Competent use of systems including map reading
- Can manage complex cases and see through to resolution
- Work effectively in a team and with the confidence to operate independently and under own initiative
- Practical skills, good technical knowledge of the wastewater industry
