Network Security Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a proactive and skilled Network Security Engineer to implement and support security solutions that align with corporate security requirements. This role involves configuring and troubleshooting network firewalls to ensure optimal performance and protection. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Security team partners, Business Relationship Managers, Field IT leadership, and managed service suppliers to identify and deliver network security services effectively. A key focus will be on driving automation opportunities to streamline the management of security infrastructure. Responsibilities also include maintaining firewall systems, applying system patches, and performing regular maintenance tasks to uphold system integrity. The engineer will analyse operational challenges and develop creative solutions to address security concerns. Additionally, they will create and maintain standard operating procedures and implementation guides for both new and existing security solutions. Regular communication with company leadership and programme collaborators is essential, as is active participation in weekly meetings and working groups to stay aligned with the evolving security landscape.

This is a long term contract role and is 3 days/week onsite.

Must Haves:

• Experience in network security
• Experience with firewall management (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
• SSL inspection, NGFW, NAC, network segmentation
• Layer 2–7 protocols, ACLs, WAF, IPS
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Certifications: PCNSA, SANS GCIH or similar

Plusses:

• Experience with cloud-based firewalls (Prisma, Zscaler)
• Scripting knowledge
• Familiarity with open-source scanning tools
• Experience working independently and collaboratively onsite
