Type of position: Permanent, 100% London Office based

Helikon are a UK Investment Manager to a single strategy hedge fund (equity long/short and credit), with assets in excess of €6 Bn Euro. Our main office is in London, with a small office in Milan also and a total of 12 staff across both offices.

We would expect the candidate to have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience (more likely 4+) in operations, with strong product knowledge of equities, swaps and credit, potentially from a product controller/fund accounting or treasury role in an investment manager, fund administrator or related business in financial services. 

The role will report to the COO directly to help build out a dedicated treasury function although also supporting the head of operations on trade pnl and fund accounting related problem solving.  

Trade pnl and accounting responsibilities will include daily pnl estimates, FX s/class hedging calculations, NAV reconciliation and being the escalation point for the middle office, to support the Head of Operations. In addition the role will also help lead a dedicated treasury/collateral management function, reporting directly to the COO, and supporting the trading desk. 

Likely to suit a commercial and numerically minded problem solver with a good understanding of equity and credit trade economics, including PB margin and financing. 

As it is new hire, not a replacement, we have some flexibility depending on the candidate as to how we best shape the role and make it exciting, with strong career prospects.
