Energy Aspects is seeking a Singapore-based NGLs/LPG Analyst to join our growing global team. This is a fantastic career opportunity for a commercially minded analyst with a 1-5 years exposure on Asian NGLs/LPG/naphtha/petrochemical markets to help expand the LPG/NGLs service. Ideally, you have prior experience of managing naphtha and LPG balances, understanding key trade flows across regions and industry knowledge of major petrochemical units such as PDH, PX and steam cracker.
As a passionate energy markets analyst, you will play a central role in our LPG/NGLs service, confidently making market calls on these rapidly changing markets and their interplay with downstream sectors. These responsibilities will span the full cycle of our work, from monitoring market developments, writing concise analysis, presenting to clients and helping upkeep supply/demand/margins data models.
This position will require flexibility and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed, ensuring we all fulfil our goals. Key Responsibilities
- Producing relevant and insightful reports and analyses on market movements, to highlight challenges and opportunities for traders, etc.
- Predicting and commenting on market movements, formally through our publications and on an ad-hoc basis with our clients.
- Keeping updated on latest Asian developments in NGLs/LPG/naphtha industry and subsequent impacts on fundamentals and pricing with a focus on China market
- Maintaining and enhancing NGL balance and tracking LPG trade flows
- Presenting our views to clients and media.
- Building and maintaining strong internal and external networks.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 1–5 years experience in covering/analysing NGLs/LPG/naphtha/petrochemicals markets.
- Strong analytical skills. Exposure to Chinese NGLs/LPG demand and consequent production balances as well as trade flow dynamics is strongly preferred.
- Industry knowledge of Chinese petrochemical units including PDH, PX and steam cracker.
- Experienced and dynamic presentation skills to large and small groups.
- A strong eye for detail and drive to ensure content published is client-ready and follows the company’s strong ethos.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with others, including colleagues in different time zones, to deliver timely analysis will be critical.
- Existing relationships with a wide set of participants in the industry including trading houses, producers, midstream companies and petrochemical firms is preferred
- Experience running supply and demand balances and using these to analyse future pricing trends.
- Chinese language skills
