Night Shift Manager - Transport & Warehouse Operations | Up to £45k + Benefits

Location: Alfreton Depot

Shift Pattern: Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm - 7:00am

We’re looking for a decisive and experienced Night Shift Manager to take full ownership of our transport and warehouse operation at night. Based at our Alfreton depot, this is your shift to lead, running the entire site while most of the business sleeps.

You’ll manage the cross-dock warehouse and oversee time-critical transport performance, ensuring vehicles leave on time, drivers are briefed, and freight flows seamlessly.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role, ideal for someone looking to step up into senior operations leadership.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Own the Night Operation - Run the Alfreton depot during night hours with full operational accountability
• Manage Transport & Logistics - Ensure route execution, driver support, and on-time vehicle dispatch
• Lead the Cross-Dock Warehouse - Oversee goods in/out to support 24/7 transport activity
• Supervise & Motivate Teams - Manage warehouse and transport staff, drive performance, and maintain high standards
• Solve Problems in Real-Time - Tackle issues like driver no-shows, VORs, or freight delays with confidence
• Coordinate Handover - Ensure smooth transitions between PM and AM teams
• Champion Safety & Compliance - Maintain high standards across all operation
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in transport and logistics operations
• Strong leadership skills in fast-paced, time-critical environments
• Calm, confident decision-making and a proactive mindset
• A hands-on attitude- willing to support across warehouse and transport
• Bonus: HGV or Counterbalance licence (not essential)
• Ambition to develop into General Manager or senior logistics leadership
