Non Equity Partner, Capital Markets Transformation
London, UK
Our Capital Markets1 clients are facing unprecedented levels of change, driven by global geopolitics, the macro economy and emerging technology.
We are looking for an exceptional Partner (non equity) to join our Capital Markets Transformation team to help shape compelling propositions and to delivery complex cross border, multi-year strategic transformation.
The opportunity
Our Transformation team works collaboratively with a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams from across our global firm. We assemble engagement teams from clients based on their specific needs; this means you will work extensively with colleagues from other Consulting teams such as Technology Consulting, Risk Consulting, People Consulting, as well as our other service lines (Strategy & Transactions, Assurance and Tax).
The types of engagement are hugely varied. While not an exhaustive list, you can expect to help shape and deliver:
- Target Operating Model design and execution
- Process re-engineering
- Cost reduction
- Post integration implementation
- Regulatory transformation
- Controls transformation
Clients expect the very latest ways of working, delivery methods and appropriate automation and AI-enablement to be infused into everything that we do, in order to deliver the best possible client outcomes at the right price point.
We execute transformation at enterprise level, as well as in the lines of business and functions, including:
- Front Office
- Middle Office
- Operations
- Risk Management
- Legal and Compliance
- Technology
- Finance
- HR
Our delivery model is extremely flexible, and its not uncommon for our teams to include a wide range of onshore skills, as well as drawing upon the scale offered by our offshore teams and our alliance partners (for example, Microsoft, ServiceNow or Snowflake).
1 EY’s definition of Capital Markets is broad, and includes Corporate and Investment Banking and Financial Market Infrastructure.
This is an opportunity to play a senior leadership role in the next phase of our growth. You will be highly visible to our most senior clients, and have a prominent role internally as we continue to grow this part of our business.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Relationship development; including the development of long-term trusted advisor relationships with our clients across the C-suite (in particular CEO, COO, Head of lines of business, Heads of transformation, Heads of function (e.g. Operations). Our clients are typically:
- US and Canadian headquartered investment banks
- Markets divisions of UK and EU headquartered universal banks
- Japanese investment banks
- Broker dealers
- Financial Markets Infrastructure
- Pursuit and proposal leadership – from originating opportunities, shaping the response, defining win themes, to defining the delivery model and approach, deal pricing and commercial negotiation.
- Delivery, as Engagement Partner, of complex transformation programmes, ensuring that the work is delivered to cost, on time and within the risk parameters of EY and our clients.
- Acceleration and development of our propositions, offerings and solutions – especially in the post trade/operations space where we see significant transformation in the next 2-3 years.
- Stewardship (in conjunction with other Partners) of the Capital Markets transformation team, playing a significant role in the development of our talent
- Elevation of the EY brand by being highly visible in the market; typically this will include speaking at conferences, hosting industry-wide events, attending conferences, and publishing authentic thought leadership
Skills and attributes for success
We see the following skills and attributes as critical for the successful candidate:
Domain Skills
- You will have deep knowledge of the functions within corporate and investment banking. Of particular interest will be knowledge of Sales and Trading, Operations, Middle Office, and Risk. Crucially, you will be able to portray a vision of what an excellent future looks like, in a way that senior leaders clients recognise and buy in
- You will be experienced in the various lines of business such as Securities, Fixed income, FX/Money Markets and Transaction Banking (including Payments). Knowledge of primary issuance/M&A is interesting but less critical.
- You will have strong knowledge of the regulatory challenges facing our clients across market risk, credit risk, and operational risk. The candidate does not need to be a deep regulatory expert, but a strong grasp of the key issues is required.
- You will be expert in the “classic” consulting domains such as target operating model design, business case development, process engineering, cost reduction, automation, data and end to end SDLC
- You will be well versed in modern ways of working, and literate in Agile, Cloud, DevOps, and Product Management
- You will be comfortable with and curious about emerging technology concepts such as Agentic AI, Generative AI, and digital assets; critically you will need to team with our technology consulting domain experts as part of pursuits and delivery.
Relationship Skills
- You will be able to draw upon a strong network of senior influencers across CIB and markets divisions of universal banks will be highly beneficial.
- You will be comfortable rapidly building new relationships from scratch, or developing existing relationships that are shared with other colleagues
- Previous account leadership roles in premium professional services firms would be of significant interest
Interpersonal Skills
- A collegiate and collaborative working style is non-negotiable. You will be working in and alongside fellow Partners across different service lines and in different geographies
- An exceptional communicator – both verbal and written. You will be a natural storyteller, and able to influence and inspire our clients, particularly when it comes to the art of the possible
- A producer-leader; all of our Partners are expected to lead delivery, create content and lead by example. “Hands off” will not work here, nor will an expectation to be “presiding over” matters.
- Highly responsive and operate at a fast pace; much of our work is “intra day” with synchronous connectivity between teams.
- Exceptional people skills with a knack of driving high performing teams through a “high challenge, high support” approach.
Previous Experience
- You will have demonstrable sales and delivery experience from a premium professional services organisation. Many of our most successful Partners have also spent part of their career in the industry. We expect to be able to take up client references as part of the selection process.
- You will be a critical thinker and able to go “toe to toe” with senior clients. You will most likely have an exceptional academic background, however increasingly we recognise that our top talent has not always followed a classic, linear career path.
- The role is focussed on clients in the UK and Ireland, however many of our clients are global in nature; experience of working with other markets, and with offshore delivery centres will be highly beneficial.

We offer a competitive remuneration package where you’ll be rewarded for your individual and team performance.
