About FLS
Scotland’s forests and land are of enormous importance to communities, economy and environment. Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) is the Government Agency responsible for the day-to-day management of Scotland’s 650,000 ha of national forests and land including some of Scotland’s most beautiful and historic landscapes. Each year we sustainably produce c.40% of Scotland’s timber, partner in producing 1300Mw of renewable energy, welcome 10 million visitors and are home to over 1,000 species. With 1100 employees, our turnover is £175m comprising 80% commercial income supplemented by grants from the Scottish Government for peatland restoration, woodland creation and other recreational services.

Terms
As detailed in the attached information, please note there is a requirement to commit up to 20 days per year to this work. You will be asked to participate in approximately 8 meetings per annum. A daily fee and reasonable travel expenses will be paid. The role does not attract a pension or holiday entitlement.
