INTERNAL VACANCY
This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.
The role involves managing the Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Gastro Theme programme including budget, programme outputs, associated and linked projects, and regular liaison and meetings with stakeholders and BRC Theme Leaders in other disease areas within the overall BRC project within the School of Medicine. The role requires strategy, planning and performance, project and change management and implementation, budget management and control and stakeholder engagement and communication. The post holder will be required to provide regular reports on expenditure against budget and outcomes achieved against targets. An annual report is also required by the funder NIHR. The role is required to work closely with Theme Leads, Programme Leads and key researchers to identify and manage opportunities and risks to ensure successful delivery of theme research objectives. Some driving / travelling to other sites is necessary.
You will join a team of academics, researchers, medical practitioners and business managers located within the Division of Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre (NDDC) within the School of Medicine Unit of Translational Medical Sciences based at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. You will have some Line Management duties and will be required to undertake management of staff in line with HR and University of Nottingham policy and practice.
The NDDC is led by Professor Guru Aithal who heads up the BRC Gastro Theme and to who you will report to as your Manager.
Applicants should have excellent project management skills, ability to engage with a range of different stakeholders, excellent communication skills, ability to manage high level and complex projects / programmes and to manage large and complex budget(s). Ability to manage, mitigate and review project and implementation risks. Ability to liaise with senior colleagues including Finance staff.
