We are looking for a NPD Bread Technologist to join our NPD team. Working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. This is role will initially be based from our Corby Centre of Excellence site. Once the candidate has successfully progressed to a Technical Field Development Manager the role will require extensive travel.
This is an exciting role with a pre-determined career path to enable clear career progression, the time to progress to the next role will be dependant upon the candidate.
Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate and reproducible test bakes
- Supporting customer presentations with product samples at top quality and within time frames, with the aim to lead some of these sessions in the future
- Analysing trials, writing reports and feeding back findings, keeping written documentation of all stages
- Presenting back findings and next steps to customers both via email and on Teams calls/in person
- Updating project statuses on the online system
- Inputting supplier specification and material data sheet information onto a development system to support food safety functions
- Liaise with Finance to gather development products and ingredient costings
- Working towards learning how to formulate, ingredient functionality and owning projects with an overall aptitude for learning with the aim to be a subject matter expert for bakery ingredient & formulation
- Building upon knowledge of scientific bakery technology
- Going above and beyond day-to-day tasks by taking initiative and being proactive
- Communicating with suppliers as and when needed to obtain technical, food safety and quality documentation
- When developments are ready for set up, working cross-functionally to push these through within business and customer time frames
- Upholding the company’s strong health and safety culture including safe material procedures and wearing appropriate PPE
- Ensuring clean working practices and safe disposal of materials and equipment
- Support with process development projects that link to NPD
