We are seeking a band 4 nurse associate to join the team in the John Radcliffe main theatres direct admissions unit. TDA is housed within the operating theatres, you will work alongside the theatre nurses, surgeons and anesthetists to ensure patients are welcomed and ready to go to theatre.
TDA is an area where patients are admitted on the same day as their surgery. This process streamlines the workflow for surgical procedures ensuring that patients are ready for their operation with unnecessary delays.
As part of the TDA team you will welcome patients, check their details, liaise with the anaesthetists and surgeons, carry out base line observations and assist with any other tests needed. You will use digital documentation systems and escalate any anomalies to the relevant team. You will use your interpersonal skills to ensure that patients feel reassured and informed. You will need need good communication skills to ensure clinical teams and patients have the relevant information needed to ensure a smooth transition through TDA.
