Position: Nurture Instructor

Job Purpose
To provide targeted nurture support to secondary students who require additional assistance with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) needs and academic engagement, enabling them to fully access the curriculum and achieve positive outcomes. You will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring that the department and the school are successful in achieving its aims. You will be an enthusiastic, flexible and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in this specialist area.
Who We Are
Cambian Wisbech School in an independent, DfE-registered, co-educational day school, providing specialist education for up to 40 students, aged 7-17 years. At Cambian Wisbech School, we aim to re-engage learners with their education and to replace feelings of failure and frustration with a sense of belonging and feelings of success.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Nurture Instructor , while experience within a SEMH/SEN specialist provision would be desirable, we will consider applications from those who are currently working in a mainstream or college setting.
Training and development will be provided for the successful candidate in line with the identified needs of the school, the skills of the individual and their prospective career progression.
Key Accountabilities
Plan and deliver tailored nurture interventions and activities, addressing emotional, behavioural, social, and academic needs. Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment that fosters students’ wellbeing and confidence. Regularly assess and monitor students’ progress, adapting approaches as necessary to ensure continuous development.
Qualifications And Experience
Relevant qualifications or training in education, Trauma Informed Practices, psychology or similar fields. Experience working in a nurture or pastoral role within an educational setting, particularly with secondary-aged students.
