Cwm Taf Morgannwg University is looking for a Band 5, Occupational Health Screening Nurse to join the multidisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to contribute to the provision of our high quality, evidence based, occupational health service based in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
We are seeking an RGN qualified individual interested in developing their skills and gaining experience within the occupational health speciality.
You will have excellent communication skills, be IT literate with a flexible, proactive approach to service delivery and be able to work clinically in an autonomous manner.
The main purpose of the role would be to administer work related vaccines and flu vaccines, provide advice and where appropriate onward referral for staff who have sustained a needle stick/contamination incident as well as conducting skin assessments with onward referral to specialists where appropriate.
You must have proven clinical skills alongside strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Working patterns are mainly Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm.

The Main Purpose Of The Role Would Be To
- Administer safely work related vaccines and flu vaccines as per written instructions/Patient Group Directives (PGDs).
- Provide advice and where appropriate onward referral for staff who have sustained a needle stick/contamination incident. Advise the employee of follow-up as necessary and ensure compliance with the CTUMHB Needlestick policy.
- The post holder is guided by clearly defined protocols and legislation and contacts more senior colleagues for complex situations.
- The post holder is required to be accountable for their own actions, to use own initiative and act independently with discretion.
- Their workload is managed rather than supervised and act independently whilst undertaking clinical duties.
- They may be responsible for supervising OH nurse students.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
