About the Roles
We have a strong team of Occupational Therapists and Community Support Workers who are passionate about supporting both adults and children with disabilities and long-term needs.
- Our Reablement Teams use a strength-based approach to help individuals to live the lives they want. Interventions could include providing information and advice, reablement approaches such as practice of task or alternative techniques, provision of equipment, and arranging major/minor adaptations. We aim to achieve the best outcomes for children and adults across Leicestershire, taking a strengths-based approach and embracing change and new opportunities.
- Within the reablement team of Blaby, Oadby, Wigston and Harborough we also provide assessments for people within the local prisons. Interventions are based on a compensatory approach, supporting individuals to manage their functional difficulties within the confines of the prison environment.
- The Lightbulb OT team are responsible for complex major adaptations, and design innovative schemes which give people access to essential facilities in their home. They work closely with housing officers within the Lightbulb service to progress schemes from design to completion. We are a county wide service.
- The OT’s working in the Single-Handed Care team focus on involving individuals in the physical care they receive to support them to remain at home. This will include looking at techniques or equipment that can reduce carers involvement with the aim to maintaining the individual’s functional ability and improve their experience of receiving care.
What we offer:
- A varied in-house training programme.
- Participation in OT student education.
- Great team and managerial support.
- A varied caseload.
- Regular supervision, on-going support and CPD opportunities.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
