A vacancy has arisen within the Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy HSCP for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with experience of working with vulnerable children and adults in the community.

It is a full time, 36 hr permanent post based in the South West Locality. You will be working with a supportive and collaborative team of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and clerical assistants based throughout our other Perth and Kinross localities.

The South West locality is one of the most picturesque you could find. An area of exceptional beauty, comprising of small towns, villages, and rural hamlets it is a scenic and varied part of Scotland set in the heart of the Strathearn countryside.

Due to the nature of this locality, we enjoy very close working relationships between primary health, community nursing, social work and all the AHP staff. The community hospital is located in Crieff and is at the heart of multidisciplinary working. Our integrated Hub is represented by the Social Work team, District Nursing, Community Mental Health, Community Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams.

Your role will be to undertake comprehensive assessments and arrange the provision of equipment, adaptations and community supports to assist individuals to achieve their optimum level of independence in the community.

You would have a base in Crieff with the option of using the council hub in Perth.

We work a hybrid system of flexible working and support working from home and/or base as required.

Skills & Experience Required

As an Occupational Therapist within the team you will be required to work with people of all ages who require specialist OT assessment and intervention. You will be expected to undertake comprehensive assessments and to arrange the provision of equipment, adaptations and community supports to assist individuals to achieve their optimum level of independence in the community.

You will have strong assessment skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with service users and carers. You will be able to demonstrate experience of multi-disciplinary working and be committed to working closely with colleagues from other disciplines.

You must be able to work effectively within a team and demonstrate a commitment to improving service provision. You will have good organisational skills and be able to manage a busy caseload. Excellent verbal and written skills are essential.

Experience in Moving and Handling is essential and Edge Training or RoSPA 4 accreditation in SHC would be desirable.

2 years post qualification experience is highly desirable

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.

Must have Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy

Must be registered with HCPC
