An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our The Kingston Older Peoples CMHT and Memory Service. The Kingston Older Peoples CMHT and Memory Service has been well-established for over 20 years. In the past few years the service has been transformed from an integrated team to a health only service, therefore, outsourcing social care provision. During the new formation of the team many new roles have been developed. All our staff work across both the Memory Service and Older People’s CMHT and we enjoy integrated caseload management, helping to better meet our service user’s needs and patient safety.
The role of community occupational therapist will cover both of CMHT and Memory Assessment Service – likely, two days working within each team. Both teams work together and are located at the same location and managed by the same Team Manager. The successful candidate will receive professional supervision from the Lead Service Line Occupational Therapist. You will also be responsible for a small caseload of service users with complex needs; some may have chronic and acute mental health needs. There will be an expectation to working independently and provide effective caseload management. Knowledge and working with old age mental health conditions would be an advantage.
Holistic assessment alongside a recovery style approach will be essential in supporting our service users. There will also be an expectation to attend interdisciplinary meetings, help with auditing and improving the team’s key performance indicators. Mandatory and developmental training will be provided. Having access to your own car and driving will be an essential requirement for the post holder to help them complete home visits. A mileage allowance will be provided.
