We are seeking a dynamic and experienced band 6 OT who wishes to work in an integrated manner at the Merton & Sutton Early Intervention Service. This exciting role presents the opportunity to work in a supportive team, holding an OT caseload with a smaller care coordination caseload, providing specific OT recovery focused assessment and treatment to adults with first-episode psychosis. For the right candidate we will also consider an experienced Band 5 OT, willing to undertake a defined period of development, working towards a Band 6, as part of our preceptorship plus programme.
Our priority is to work collaboratively with clients, offering time-limited recovery focused interventions, supporting individuals to maintain their roles and functioning and to develop strategies for managing their symptoms.
The Successful Candidate Will Develop a Consistent Approach With Evidence-based Practice And Expertise Interventions In Line With The Transformation Agenda, Facilitating Independence And Actively Working Towards Discharge. These Include
- Standardised ADL assessments based on the MOHO
- GLOW (Graduated Living Outside of the Ward), a specialist 1:1 stepped-intensity intervention delivered over a period of 16 sessions.
- Occupationally focussed anxiety management group
- Sensory profiling and recommendations
The successful candidate will be offered professional supervision from their Lead Occupational Therapist to focus on their development, and line management supervision from their team manager. You will work collaboratively with other members of the MDT including psychology, employment specialists and recovery support workers.
