Civil Protection Officer to join our professional and dynamic Civil Protection Service in a job share capacity (18.5hrs per week).
What You'll Do
As a Civil Protection Officer, you will:
- Develop, test, and support the implementation of contingency plans
- Work across partner agencies to coordinate responses to incidents
- Deliver training and advice to staff, elected members, businesses, and voluntary groups
- Actively contribute to Local Resilience Forum meetings
- Provide public information and support during emergencies
You'll support tactical decision-making during emergencies and play a crucial role in safeguarding the city and its people.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone with:
- A diploma (or equivalent experience) in emergency management or a related field
- Proven experience in multi-agency planning and emergency response
- Strong understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and relevant regulations
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
- Confidence to make critical decisions under pressure
- A full UK Driving Licence
- The ability to undertake 'on-call' duties out of hours without restriction
- Membership in a relevant emergency planning organisation and experience with non-statutory plans and central government resilience frameworks
