The Oral and Maxillofacial services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital are incorporated within the Head & Neck Service. The post would suit a trainee returning to the specialty after core training or during second degree. This post will have general Maxillofacial activity.
You will work as part of a team led by four Consultants, supported by six Speciality Doctors. You will be involved in a full range of clinical activities related to Maxillofacial Surgery.
You will be part of the 1:6 on-call rota. This covers the activity from the A&E department and inpatient support. In addition to this the appointee will be expected to cover general Maxillofacial emergencies.
- To provide a full range of Oral and Maxillofacial advice and treatment
- Admission and discharge of inpatients
- To ensure a high-quality standard of evidence-based clinical care is maintained
- To maintain accurate clinical and statistical records of all activities undertaken on behalf of the Princess Alexandra NHS Hospital Trust
- To maintain personal professional competency and appropriate development
- To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with Trust policies
- Required to comply with all relevant national and local statutory and
mandatory requirements including Health & Safety and Infection Control
