Band 6Fixed term 12 months Maternity Cover - 37.5 hours per weekAn exciting opportunity has arisen within our service at the Hillingdon & Mount Vernon Hospital NHS Trust for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our friendly dynamic hard-working theatre team.The Hillingdon Hospital & Mount Vernon NHS Trust is a busy district general situated near to London's Heathrow Airport. A diagnostic and treatment centre at Mount Vernon Hospital will provide day care and elective surgery for the Hillingdon area. This Treatment Centre will provide excellent learning and development opportunities for staff.The work is interesting and varied, the pace is fast but we can offer you a friendly and supportive environment with an excellent record of commitment to continuing professional development together with all the benefits of working for a Foundation Trust.Our theatre suite at the Hillingdon & Mount Vernon sites comprises of 13 theatres and 2 recovery units. The specialities include robotics, orthopaedics/ trauma, gynaecology, urology, dental, pain, ophthalmic and general. This department has 24hour theatre provision including obstetrics. A commitment to participate in shifts / on-calls / nights and weekends is essential.
Main duties of the job
- To provide responsible and high quality patient care maintaining standards in accordance of agreed policies.
- To provide skilled assistance as a member of the team in the operatingdepartment and any other area of the Trust as required.
- To maintain standards in accordance of agree policies, to achieve andmaintain a quality service.
- To participate in the training programmes of operating departmentpractitioners and act as a facilitator/mentor for pre-registration and postbased nursing student in Theatre.
