Salary: Starting Salary is £32,597 (Level one) rising to £35,412 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About The Role

The Operational Logistics Officer ensures the efficient coordination and delivery of Waste and Street Cleansing services.

This role is pivotal in managing daily operations, optimising service schedules (workpacks) and supporting continuous improvement through data analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and leveraging digital tools and systems to enhance decision-making and operational transparency.

This position is responsible for directing the day-to-day operational logistics, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, on time, and in accordance with established performance standards. By optimising service schedules and resources, the officer supports the seamless execution of frontline activities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in planning and managing operational schedules using digital tools
  • Proven ability to coordinate logistics across multiple service areas, including waste collection, street cleansing, bulky waste, and bin deliveries.
  • Strong skills in monitoring service performance against SLAs and KPIs, with a track record of initiating corrective actions where needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to respond effectively to resident enquiries and complaints across various channels and within agreed timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting service continuity and emergency response planning during operational disruptions or adverse weather conditions.
