Operational Manager Therapeutic Radiographer - Satellite

The Christie at Oldham is seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Operations Radiographer to lead the operational delivery of its radiotherapy service. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the efficient planning, organisation and coordination of radiotherapy, ensuring high‑quality treatment and a seamless patient experience. You will work closely with Oncologists, Medical Physics, senior management, and clinical teams across the network to maintain strong communication between the Christie and the host site.

The post holder will support service performance, lead on workflow and quality, and ensure compliance with national standards, local targets and radiotherapy legislation. You will also play a central role in service improvement, pathway development, teaching, research activity and the introduction of new technologies. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex operational challenges within a highly specialised environment.

Main Duties Of The Job

You have a limit of 1500 characters, including spaces You will manage radiographic, medical review, clinical support and administrative staff, providing day to day leadership to ensure safe, effective and efficient radiotherapy delivery at the Oldham centre. Duties include overseeing workflow, resource planning, risk management, and compliance with IR(ME)R, IRR and Trust quality systems. You will maintain clinical competence, undertake treatment and imaging duties, and act as Operator, Referrer, Practitioner and Radiation Protection Supervisor.

The post holder will analyse pathways, propose improvements, lead service wide change and contribute to project planning, governance and audit. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues across all Christie sites to implement new clinical and administrative systems. Responsibilities extend to financial management, stock control, staff supervision, training, recruitment, and supporting clinical trials and research. You will ensure robust data management, maintain accurate records, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and high professional standards.
