SSBO provides utility processing services to Global Operations. By functionalizing processes across segments, SSBO realizes efficiencies through scale, location strategy and adoption of best practices. SSBO provides quality operational core processes at an optimal price point, with maximum benefit to MS business lines. Services currently provided by SSBO include Cash Management, OTC Derivative and Security Settlements, Position Services, Reconciliations, Network Management and Vendor Management.

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Professional Associate to play a key role in the EMEA SSBO Risk & Control team in Glasgow, Scotland.

The EMEA Risk and Control Professional Associate is responsible for the documentation, measurement, analysis, and mitigation of operational risk. The Professional Associate accomplishes this through the oversight and execution of a range of activities such as process and control documentation and testing; ensuring supervisory procedures are in place; reviewing compliance with firm policies and regulatory expectations; analyzing key risk metrics; and documenting and executing remediation plans.

The Professional Associate will generally perform these risk and control framework responsibilities in collaboration with functional process owners in operational areas such as Security, Treasury, Client Regulatory, and Reference Data Services.

What we are looking for;

> College degree (BSc or BA) preferably in accounting, economics, finance, statistics or related disciplines

> Three years minimum experience in financial services operations

> Hands-on experience with using quantitative (metrics) and qualitative tools (e.g., process narratives and flows) to assess areas of risk and identify risk mitigation options and shape the risk agenda

> Experience applying risk management precepts such as separation of duties, information security disciplines, and supervisory reviews

> Strong analytical skills, including root cause analysis

> Ability to communicate effectively and confidently across all levels

> Good project and modeling skills to develop business process documentation and prepare management reports using PowerPoint

> Collaboration and teamwork skills and experience, including strong interpersonal skills to build cross-divisional relationships

> Ability to deliver on plans, complete next steps and resolve issues in a timely manner

> Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
