Operations Care Manager - Beechwood College

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to support the leadership team in delivering operational excellence across all aspects of the service.
As Operations Care Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring robust and efficient day-to-day operations. This includes oversight of HR practices, administration, staffing structures, facilities, and compliance.
You will be expected to take a strategic lead on auditing and performance monitoring, developing and implementing systems that assess quality, training compliance, staff supervision, and operational delivery. Your role will be instrumental in identifying risks, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring services remain safe, effective, and responsive.
You will also be the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring safeguarding is fully embedded in the culture of the service. This includes managing concerns and referrals, maintaining accurate records, and working with external agencies to safeguard vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR-related processes such as recruitment, investigations, absence management, and appraisals
- Oversee administration, housekeeping, and catering functions to maintain a high-quality service environment
- Develop and maintain robust strategic audit frameworks for training, supervision, staffing, and policy compliance
- Monitor budgets and resource usage, including agency staff and internal bank staff
- Drive engagement and internal communications across all departments
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing disclosures, referrals, case documentation, and safeguarding training across the workforce
- Liaise with external agencies and regulators to uphold best practice and compliance
- Support an ethos of continuous professional development and reflective practice across all teams
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Degree in Business Management or significant equivalent experience
- Experience in senior operational roles with line management responsibilities
- Sound knowledge of HR practices, safeguarding responsibilities, and health and safety compliance
- Demonstrated experience leading audits and performance monitoring at a strategic level
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook)
- Commitment to obtaining Level 3 Safeguarding training within 3 months if not already qualified
Desirable:
- Current Level 3 Safeguarding qualification
- Experience within specialist care, residential settings, or regulated environments
- Advanced Excel or auditing system experience
- Familiarity with external agencies such as CIW or commissioning authorities
