Job Description
What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join us as an Operations Executive - CASS in Glasgow. This is a varied role, offering a really good overview of Operations and exposure to senior stakeholders and the leadership team.
The Operational Excellence & CASS Oversight Director is charged with oversight of the group's client money and asset controls and processes. The CASS team as a whole is responsible for ensuring that the group's regulated entities are compliant with the FCA's Client Asset (CASS) regulations. Operations Executives within the team perform a key role in assisting the team achieve this objective.
As an Operations Executive - CASS, your responsibilities will include among others:
- Assisting in logging and investigating CASS breaches within the business and preparing trend analysis of the group’s monthly CASS breach numbers
- Assisting in the delivery of the firm’s internal review programme and external CASS audits
- Assisting in the performance of the annual due diligence of the firm’s sub-custodian and preparing first drafts of due diligence reports
- Assisting in the drafting of papers for the firm’s governance and oversight committees
- Assisting in the organisation and delivery of the Group’s CASS training programme
- Completing first reviews of regulatory returns submitted to the FCA
- Assisting in the organisation of the monthly CASS Oversight Committee packs and preparing a first draft of the minutes of this meeting
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
To Be Successful In This Role, You Should
- Demonstrable interest in financial services
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Minimum basic level Word and intermediate level Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to communicate well both written and verbally to senior audiences
- Demonstrate ability to understand and summarise complex information in a professional and concise manner and solve problems quickly with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to organise workloads effectively and meet tight deadlines, with a flexible approach to team priorities
- Responding to queries from both internal and external parties in a timely manner and providing a high level of customer service both internally and externally
Desired
- Prior CASS experience is desirable but not essential
- Experience gained within a financial services institution especially in Operations is advantageous but not essential
- Relevant professional qualifications e.g. CISI Investment Operations Certificate desirable but not essential
