INTERNAL VACANCY
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our fast-paced centre, which includes the Emergency Departments and Acute Medicine areas at both the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) and Princess Royal Hospital (PRH). This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in operational leadership to contribute to the delivery of both organisational and centre-specific objectives.
The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering key targets and performance indicators related to quality, activity, finance, and governance. The post holder will be skilled in managing competing priorities to a high standard, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of services across the centre, while maintaining a visible and supportive presence within clinical areas.
A critical aspect of the role involves fostering excellent communication and collaborative working relationships with our Matrons, Clinical Directors, and wider clinical and non-clinical teams, as well as engaging with key stakeholders. The post holder will be responsible for driving performance, achieving agreed KPIs, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with the Department of Health’s Code of Conduct for NHS Managers and in alignment with the Trust’s values, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability. The successful candidate will be required to work cross site throughout the working week.
Main duties of the job
Providing leadership and operational management support to the Centre Manager, you must have current NHS experience with a strong focus on delivery and a desire for success. Working with the Clinical Directors and Centre Manager, the post-holder is responsible for formulating and implementing service delivery plans to achieve the operational and strategic objectives of the Centre.
You should have the skills to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and motivate others effectively.
Accountable for service delivery, the post-holder will be required to liaise with service users, other agencies and stakeholders along with working closely with other teams to ensure efficient and effective management of all resources to deliver safe, high quality and effective patient care.
