Operations Officer - Guarantees

We are working with an international bank who are looking for an Operations Officer with specialist expertise in Bank Guarantees on a 12-month contract. This is a critical role within their Corporate Banking Operations team, providing end-to-end support on complex guarantee structures.

If you are experienced in handling the full life cycle of corporate guarantees, project finance, and trade finance, this role will place you at the centre of the bank’s high-value operational work.

Key Responsibilities

Guarantees (Core Focus):

• Lead the administration of guarantees from issuance to expiry, including amendments, extensions, and cancellations.
• Ensure accurate SWIFT messaging, GL postings, and fee management.
• Interpret and manage guarantee documentation, ensuring compliance with both client requirements and banking standards.
• Be the subject matter expert for guarantee enquiries and operational best practice.

Additional Exposure (Desirable):

• Support with inward/outward payments and account administration.
• Assist in loan operations (drawdowns, rollovers, and maturities).
• Contribute to broader AML, KYC, and regulatory requirements across the department.

About You

• Proven experience in Guarantees operations within corporate or international banking.
• Strong understanding of guarantee life cycles, structures, and related documentation.
• Confident using banking platforms (SWIFT, Excel, Midas, Algo).
• Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage time-critical and complex transactions.
• Broader exposure to payments, loans, or credit control is a plus but not essential.

• Salary range of £50,000 – £53,000.
