Job Introduction

An opportunity is available for an Operator (Faults Team) based at Leicester or Kettering.

As an Operator you will assist the team with activities relating to unplanned and planned fault repair incidents on our network up to 66kV. Specific focus will be on customer service, supporting cohesion with our external dig & lay delivery partner and liaison with local Highway authorities.

To apply, you will need to hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A*) or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects, such as Functional Skills.

Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

Main Responsibilities

The work will involve being away from the depot, working as part of a team or lone working. The working environment requires quick, decisive and responsible actions to meet the demands of the role.

You will need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives centred around Customer Excellence.

Ideal Candidate

You will ideally have some experience or qualifications in the electrical field and knowledge of Highway street work activities is an advantage, although all necessary training will be provided.

You will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties therefore a valid UK driving licence is essential. For operational reasons you must live within 25 miles of either the Leicester or Kettering depot.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
