Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for an Operator (Substation Inspector) in the Projects team based in the South West
As an Operator, you will be responsible for inspecting all NGED assets at GSP’s and BSP’s with some general site work associated with the repair, maintenance and construction of plant and switchgear up to 132kV.
You will ideally have some experience in the electrical field however all necessary training will be provided.
To apply, you will need to hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A*) or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects, such as Functional Skills.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
Main Responsibilities
You will be required to undertake substation inspections and carry out equipment inspections and testing.
The work involves being away from the depot normally working on your own. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively and take responsible actions to the meet the demands of the role also a flexible approach to assist the team in meeting it's objectives.
Ideal Candidate
You will need to be mobile throughout the area therefore a driving licence is essential. You may also be required to undertake out of hours standby duties.
Please note, where job roles within the company involve working at height and the use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment, there are restrictions on the maximum weight of the individual.
