Job Title: Payments Lead

Location: Leicester (Hybrid, 3 days on site)

Contract: 12 month FTC

Salary: £70,000

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payments Lead to join our client's key finance transformation programme. You will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of payment workflows, ensuring robust processes, compliance with banking standards including ISO 20022, and alignment with internal controls.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Cash Management, Testing, Data Migration, and Change Management, to ensure payment processes are efficient, secure, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of payment outflow processes
• Ensure compliance with ISO 20022 and relevant banking standards
• Collaborate with Finance, Cash Management, Testing, and Data Migration teams
• Prepare and review process documentation, integration design, and configuration workbooks
• Identify risks and implement appropriate controls
• Support business impact assessments, testing, and post-implementation support

About You

• Strong experience in Payments, Accounts Payable, Cash Management or related finance operations
• Knowledge of banking standards such as ISO 20022
• Experience implementing change in finance functions with a focus on process controls and automation
• Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Oracle Fusion
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
