Organisation Design Lead / Organisation Effectiveness


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Organisation Design Lead to join a global financial institution currently undergoing a multi-year transformation initiative. This high-impact role is positioned within a centre of expertise focused on organisational effectiveness, and plays a critical role in shaping how the organisation structures, aligns, and optimises itself to be more agile, efficient, and future-ready.


This is ideal for someone with a strong background in organisational design, strategic change, and business transformation within large-scale, matrixed environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver organisation design projects aligned to strategic business objectives, ensuring optimal deployment of resources, governance, and ways of working.
  • Use data and organisational insights to identify areas for performance improvement and lead interventions across design, governance, leadership, and culture.
  • Partner with senior business leaders and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to design and implement effective structures that drive simplicity, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
  • Translate strategic intent into tangible design outcomes using internal frameworks, methodologies, and job architecture.
  • Enable self-serve tools and tracking capabilities to monitor the effectiveness of organisation design interventions.
  • Champion continuous improvement and embed a culture of agility and high performance.
  • Coach HR and business stakeholders on key organisation effectiveness levers, including workforce planning, org structure design, and leadership enablement.
  • Stay ahead of internal and external trends to provide thought leadership and shape future OD practices.


Skills required:

  • Proven experience leading large-scale organisation design or related transformation projects in complex, highly regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of organisation health levers including structure, ways of working, talent, leadership, and culture.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.
  • Able to synthesise complex information and present actionable recommendations using a compelling narrative.
  • Highly analytical, confident working with data to identify insights and inform decision-making.
  • Comfortable working independently, with experience coaching and guiding others across HR and business teams.
  • Experience working with strategic workforce planning, job evaluation frameworks, and change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, PRINCE2).
