Located in Plymouth, our modern, well-equipped hospital provides planned surgical care for NHS, private, and insured patients. We offer high-quality treatment across a broad range of specialties, with a strong focus on patient safety, comfort, and recovery.
This is a part-time position /32 hours per week working Outpatients department at our Practice Plus Group hospital in Plymouth. The individual will be required to work 4x8 hours shifts each week. The department operates from 8:00am -6:00pm each day with varying start and finish times.
What you'll be doing
Duties
To deliver high-quality patient care and clinical support within the Outpatient Department, while contributing to infection prevention efforts through the collection and analysis of Surgical Site Infection (SSI) data. Duties will include:
- Prepare patients for outpatient procedures and consultations.
- Conduct ECGs and perform blood tests/investigations as requested.
- Take MRSA/MSSA swabs in line with infection control protocols.
- Run HCA-led clinics, ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate care.
- Support patient flow and maintain clinical area hygiene and safety.
- Provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients throughout their visit.
- Alternate weeks: support ultrasound-guided injection clinics.
What we'll look for in you
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Care Certificate.
- Phlebotomy and ECG training desirable.
- Experience in outpatient or clinical settings preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of infection control principles and confidentiality standards.
- ANTT competent.
