We are looking for an experienced nurse with exceptional change leader skills to join our Paediatric Allergy team to work with the consultants in developing our allergy service. You will be supported by our team of consultants, nurse leaders and allied health professionals to support local children and young people with allergies.
We are a team who are open to hearing your ideas and supporting you to take them forward. You will have experience with children with allergic conditions, providing education across a variety of settings, and making effective relationships with CYP and their families.
Main duties of the job
To work within the MDT to ensure safe and appropriate care is delivered and maintained when caring for children with an allergy.
To provide effective, clinical & operational support to the MDT and in support of general management objectives.
To provide teaching to wider members of the clinical team.
To support with allergy clinics, including skin prick testing and forming care plans, as well as oral food and drug challenges.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- Deliver and evaluate care and provide specialist advice to nursing staff.
- To undertake audit to evaluate care.
- To co-ordinate and maintain patient focused care.
- Take a lead role in developing nursing practice and education in area of expertise
- Manage and monitor complaints as per Trust and Directorate policy working alongside Matron.
- Liaise with and maintain good working relationships with the University and with all levels within the MDT to ensure high standards of nursing care are maintained. Keep abreast of relevant legislation and communicate change as appropriate.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient records is maintained by developing secure systems of work.
- Assist in the development of policies in relation to your clinical area.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness are practiced by all team members to ensure infection control standards are promoted and maintained.
- To support and provide leadership to all team members when dealing with complex, difficult and traumatic situations.
- To co ordinate and act upon patient feedback
