Cornwall Council’s Disabled Children and Therapy Service is seeking a dynamic, motivated and compassionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our experienced multi-disciplinary team. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of complex needs, delivering high-quality, family-centred care and promoting independence and inclusion.
About The Role
You will work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals and social care colleagues to assess, plan, and deliver occupational therapy interventions that support the development and well-being of children and young people. Your caseload will include children with a variety of medical conditions or disabilities and your input will contribute to improving participation in everyday activities at home, in school and in the community.
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, You Will
Provide specialist assessments and interventions for children with physical, behavioural, and developmental challenges.
Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
You will make recommendations for and provide equipment and adaptations to enhance independence and safety. You will carry this out in children's own homes and schools.
Offer guidance and training to families, carers, and educational staff.
Support the supervision and development of other staff and students.
About You
We are looking for a confident and skilled Occupational Therapist who:
Holds a degree in Occupational Therapy and is registered with the HCPC.
Has proven post-qualification experience, ideally with children and young people.
Demonstrates excellent clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills.
Is passionate about child-centred practice and working in partnership with families.
