The Outpatient Department of The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital has undergone a major transformation programme to improve the patient experience for our patients. As part of this, we have created a full time position for a band 5 paediatric nurse. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic paediatric registered nurse to join our team. As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard.
We are looking for someone to work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that our patients feel safe and welcomed into the department. As well as undertaking basic duties you will function as a clinical practitioner being responsible for the delivery of patient care, managing and organising a work load on a daily basis.
In addition you will be required to supervise junior staff and mentor nursing students.
We encourage sharing of best practice across our site to develop your skills and take advantage of our excellent clinical leadership knowledge.
The successful candidate will be joining a motivated team who’s focused on providing a high standard of service to patients in a busy outpatient department.
Candidates must be flexible, adaptable and able to work both in a team and independently.
The working hours of the department are Monday – Friday with a variety of shifts between 8am and 7pm
Candidate will be responsible for the setting up and running of clinics in the outpatient department. The candidate will be assisting clinicians within the department, including chaperoning, pre-assessment and complex wound dressings.
Candidate must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Candidate must have good initiative.
We are looking for someone who is friendly and welcoming to ensure that patients feel safe when coming into the department.
Phlebotomy is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
All staff are required to demonstrate a level of IT literacy skills appropriate to their job, as the use of IT is fundamental in delivering good quality efficient health care
