Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist team is delighted to invite applications for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Specialist Nurse to join our highly skilled teams in Children’s Urology and Immunology.

This unique split role offers the opportunity to work across two specialist services.

🔹 Paediatric Urology (15 Hours/week)

Undertaking bladder assessments

Delivering biofeedback therapy to improve bladder function

Providing education and training for families and staff

🔹 Paediatric Immunology (15 hours/week)

Supporting children and families with complex immunological conditions

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care

Contributing to service development and patient education

These services are highly specialist, and it is essential that the successful candidate has prior experience working within both Paediatric Urology and Immunology settings. This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in two complex and rewarding fields. You will be supported to advance your clinical knowledge and skills through structured development pathways, multidisciplinary collaboration, and access to specialist training and education.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience

Essential criteria

  • Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC register
  • Degree qualification, 120 credits at L6 or possess an equivalent knowledge to be assessed through evidence of relevant specialist training, experience or portfolio
  • Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
  • Completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies
  • Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice or evidence assessed to be of equivalent experience, demonstrating support to a range of learners in practice Provide evidence of both supporting a range of learners in practice and supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice.
  • Extensive post registration experience within specialist area.
  • Knowledge of current issues within the acute health service.
  • Understanding of personal accountability.

Desirable criteria

  • Change Management, clinical practice development.
  • Multidisciplinary team working.
