Overall Purpose
To provide an excellent painting and decorating service across all Get Living residential homes, ensuring properties are maintained to the highest standard of finish. This includes preparing and treating surfaces, applying paints, wallpapers, and other finishes, and carrying out repair and touch-up work. The role is customer-focused, delivering safe, efficient, and considerate service to residents, colleagues, and stakeholders, enhancing the overall living experience.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Prepare walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces by sanding, filling, and priming.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and specialist finishes to achieve high-quality results.Carry out minor repairs to plasterboard, woodwork, and other surfaces as required.
- Ensure work areas are protected, clean, and left tidy on completion.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to complete decorating projectsComplying with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and procedures, including task specific risk assessments and method statements, reporting unsafe working practices, installations, or equipment.
People
- Build and develop effective working relationships with all colleagues in the maintenance and Neighbourhood teams.
- Attend team briefings and understand operational objectives and goals.
- Communicate effectively with residents about scheduled works, ensuring sensitivity to their privacy and respect for their homes.
Health & Safety
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines and control measures are delivered.
- Assist with Crisis Management and Office evacuation measures as required
- Ensure all work order records are always maintained and available for compliance audit purposes.
Qualifications & Experience
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2–3 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent experience/qualification).
- Proven experience in painting, wallpapering, and decorative finishes.
- Experience working in residential property maintenance preferred.
