The Catastrophic Injury team is one of the largest in the UK and is recognised nationally. Our 30+ strong Manchester team acts for household name insurer clients on high value, complex personal injury claims . The team's expertise covers Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) and Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters although expertise in all of those sub-specialisms is not necessarily a pre-requisite for the role

Responsibilities
- To action cases in line with the department's and client's service standards and protocols.
- To act as a trusted member within the team, taking responsibility and ensuring the case management system is kept up to date with court orders, and liaising with clients.
- Conduct thorough investigations into liability and damages, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with experts.
- Progression of cases to a satisfactory and speedy settlement per the client's requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices, maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
Essential
- 12 - 18 months previous experience in a legal environment
- YOU MUST DEMONSTRATE A CLEAR INTEREST IN CATASTROPHIC LOSS - either via University modules or work experience
- Previous experience running a litigated major injury/ large loss case load preferably RTA/ EL/ PL
- A law degree
- Basic to intermediate IT and keyboard skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and database programmes such as Lexis Library, Lawtel, Westlaw and Practical Law for carrying out legal research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility, willingness to learn on the job and to participate in learning and development opportunities.
- Attention to detail.
