The role
Our Employment team is looking for a Paralegal to join them in Manchester. You will be working in a busy close knit team supporting Legal Advisors with a variety of top quality work for key clients of the practice. This team sees itself as an extension of our clients’ business. We partner with them to drive improvement, add value, and deliver solutions in creative ways that go beyond simply delivering legal advice.
The team
Our Employment team is widely respected for providing an excellent service and delivering pragmatic and timely legal advice to its highly regarded client base. It’s a collaborative unit, operating on national lines.
The team primarily works with employer clients on a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. We also have specialists in advocacy, corporate work and business immigration.
The firm
We are a top 40 law firm with over 200 partners and around 1,500 staff in total. We have 13 locations in the UK and a significant international network including our new office in Brussels. Our clients include some of the largest financial, automotive, and technology businesses in the UK.

Skills And Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a busy Employment team
- Confidence and significant prior experience liaising with and communicating with external clients on a regular basis
- Prior experience mentoring and/or supervising more junior members of the team
- Excellent attention to detail taken with all correspondence and documentation
- Flexible according to client needs, with the ability to adapt to change, new practices and remain calm under pressure
- Able to integrate within a team as well as working on your own initiative
- Prepared to get involved in business development, including the attendance at networking and other marketing events
- Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.
