DWF is currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Police, Care and Justice team in Manchester.
The team provide expertise in niche areas of Litigation, Healthcare Advisory, Inquest and Public Inquiry representation.
The Police Care and Justice team enjoys a wide variety of work, representing both the public and private sector including numerous police forces, prisons, healthcare and education providers.
As a Paralegal, you will be working within the Civil Claims Team, a sub team of the Police Care and Justice Team handling predominantly Employer's Liability and Public Liability Claims.
You will also be managing your own caseload of pre-litigated files as well as providing support to senior members on more complex matters.
There is real scope to do a wide variety of work within the role and you will have you own cases as well as assist more experienced solicitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to senior team members managing employer liability and public liability claims.
- Draft court documents and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
- Conduct liability investigations, gather and assess evidence, and prepare client advice.
- Review and analyse case-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the case management system in line with client service level agreements.
- Perform general administrative duties to support case progression.
- Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and ensure smooth case progression.

- A law degree or LPC.

Desirable
- Paralegal experience in a commercial firm, preferably within EL/PL or similar.
