Paralegal (CLO)

This position requires a paralegal with hands-on experience supporting CLO transactions. They will be required to support the attorneys in the FRE group, particularly within the CLO product line. The ideal candidate will be well organised, independent and will have substantial experience in the drafting of CLO documentation. This individual will work with the FRE Partners, Associates, Trainees and administrative staff.

Summary of duties

• To draft, proofread and amend simple contracts and other agreements for CLOs and other finance transactions.
• To be responsible for transaction management and closing for a broad range of finance transactions, particularly CLOs.
• Liaise with other professional parties and clients in the transactions.
• Manage documents internally for associates, including ‘virtual filing’ and searching across the firm’s online filing system.
• To be responsible for general administrative duties.
• Such other administrative tasks as requested/ required from time to time.
• Any other ad hoc requests or project work as reasonably requested.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Hard working, good team player, good time management and attention to detail.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Knowledge of iManage/WorkSite, and familiarity with electronic discovery platforms is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and to manage time effectively.
• Ability to deal with others in a professional manner.
• Ability to work productively and cooperatively with other members of the department and Firm.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.

Education and Experience

• Degree-level education; LPC/SQE beneficial.
• Familiar with reviewing and commenting on legal documents.
• At least 1 year of paralegal experience with a focus on CLO transaction support.
