DWF is currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Construction team in Manchester.
Our construction lawyers undertake a wide range of non-contentious and contentious work, across multiple industries including Energy, Infrastructure, Retail and Transport.
We provide construction legal services for a diverse range of clients across the entire construction industry, including Developers, Investors, Contractors and sub-contractors and Governments and public authorities.
As a Paralegal, you will work closely with Partners and Senior Associates to support the progression of their cases, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
This role will be predominantly supporting the transactional team, however there may be a need to also assist with construction disputes where required, e.g. collating bundles, assisting with disclosure/witness statements.
Responsibilities
- Drafting consultant appointments, warranties, reliance letters, novations and deeds of assignment from standard precedents;
- Preparing and managing trackers for consultant appointments and warranties etc. on larger transactions with multiple consultants/parties;
- Helping to collate comments in on legal terms on consultant documents and warranties, and considering comments with supervisor input;
- Assisting with due diligence exercises including populating template reports and reviewing/comparing appointments and warranties; and
- Helping with legal research and managing the portal of precedents.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
- Paralegal experience in a commercial firm, preferably within construction or real estate.
- A law degree or LPC.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated and performance-driven, with a commitment to providing high-quality legal advice.
Desirable
- Knowledge of DocuSign or willingness to learn how to use this platform.
