Role: Paralegal - Court of Protection
Reports to: Department Manager
Office base: Wigan, WN3 5BA
Hours: 35 hours per week, Mon - Fri
The Role
You'll be assisting in the management of financial affairs Deputyships and working with the directors of Stephensons Trust Corporation which is the Corporate Deputy.

About You
Essential:-
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at C and above.
- A level or higher educational qualification.
- Experience of admin duties
- Good standard of computer literacy and experience with IT systems
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both face to face and over the telephone
- Great time management and organisation skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to consider and extrapolate relevant issues
- Ability to work as part of a team or under delegated tasks reporting directly to supervising fee earner
- A relevant degree or working towards.
- Experience in working within the legal sector
- Experience of working as a paralegal
- Experience of acting for vulnerable people lacking mental capacity
- Experience of using a Case Management system
- A sensitive and empathetic nature and an ability to deal with difficult and controversial subject matter
- A desire to learn Court of Protection work and develop an expertise in it.
- Discretion and ability to work in a confidential work environment under pressure
- Ability to work amidst frequent interruptions
- Working under time orientated pressure
- Ability to analyse issues and identify key points
- Valid UK driving license not essential but beneficial.
