We have an exciting opportunity to join our high performing UK Delivery Centre team as a Data Protection Paralegal. Based in our Manchester office on a hybrid basis, you will provide a high standard of service delivery and data protection support to our clients.

In this role, you will form part of a highly trained, dedicated team, working closely with our market leading Data Protection and Cyber Security Team.

We will provide all the support and training including a fantastic in-house training course on data protection, which will enable you to (1) gain the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification; and (2) to carry out your day-to-day data protection tasks, examples of which are listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Review and amend data processing agreements in accordance with playbooks.
  • Draft and review privacy notices, data protection policies and other data protection related documentation based on templates or precedents.
  • Support with responses to data subject access requests (both customer and employee facing), including reviewing documents to identify personal data and applying redactions.
  • Review and respond to data protection due diligence questionnaires and law enforcement requests for personal data in accordance with playbooks.
  • Gather information and coordinating with key stakeholders for the completion of privacy assessments using pre-existing methodologies or privacy platforms, such as OneTrust.
  • Undertake and support the delivery of investigations into legal or regulatory breaches relating to data protection or access to information, ensuring that outcomes are reported appropriately and in line with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential data protection issues and suggesting solutions to improve our client experiences and your own technical knowledge.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • A law degree or LPC
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A good team spirit with proven team working skills.
  • Passing the CIPP/E exam is a mandatory requirement for this role and is necessary to successfully complete the probation period.
  • Prior experience within the data protection field
