Our globally recognised Film and TV practice is currently looking for an exceptional paralegal to join the team.
In this role you’ll support some of the UK’s best lawyers in this sector as they advise US film studios, UK production companies, SCOD platforms, broadcasters and much more.
It’s a varied role. You’ll be involved in lots of drafting, including creating production packs and template documents, drafting talent agreements and other production related agreements. You’ll use your initiative to adapt templates to meet legal, commercial and client specific requirements, suggest improvements and maintain consistency for each client’s specific productions.
In addition, you’ll draft correspondence, review and amend agreements (under supervision), undertake and present research, communicate with production personnel by phone and email.
Other tasks will vary according to client needs. Inevitably there will be some more routine work around record keeping, administrative and other duties, but this role comes with a good degree of responsibility from the start and the opportunity to develop your legal and commercial skills in an exciting and market leading team.
It’s a hugely rewarding but very busy role and you’ll need to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
About you
We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact. You’ll already have significant experience as a paralegal in a highly regarded commercial legal team (in private practice or in-house), likely to be gained over at least one year. Strong preference will be given to candidates with legal experience in the Film and TV sectors.
We expect you will have an exceptional academic background (which must include a UK law degree or PGDL). You’ll also be able to demonstrate a pragmatic and commercial approach with a good level of initiative and the drive to deliver the best results possible.
Our reputation includes providing the highest level of client service and that involves everyone being extraordinary team players and great communicators. We expect no less of you if you are to be part of this friendly and talented team.
